Rural Vermont is standing in solidarity with Migrant Justice to support their campaign to persuade Hannaford’s supermarkets to join their Milk with Dignity Program. We hope you can join us on Sunday May 1st – which is International Workers’ Day - at 1:30 at the Barre, VT Hannaford’s store to call for this large corporation to support and protect the rights of the farmworkers who produce the dairy products they sell in their stores by joining the Milk with Dignity Program.
In collaboration with other social justice organizations, we will hold a peaceful demonstration outside the store where we will provide information to Hannaford’s customers and deliver our message to the store’s management. Our action will be part of a regional day of action through the Northeast where Hannaford’s has dozens of stores.
If you can join us, please sign up here with Migrant Justice so they know of your support and also RSVP by replying to Andrea Stander, Rural Vermont’s Interim Grassroots Organizing Director at andrea@ruralvermont.org. You can also contact Andrea if you have questions or just want more information.
We look forward to seeing you on May Day!
