11/14 Rural Vermont Annual Meeting & Celebration

  • Williamsville Hall 35 Dover Rd Newfane, VT 05345 (map)

We’ll see you this year in Southern Vermont! Please mark your calendar for Tuesday 11/14 from 5-8pm at the Williamsville Hall at 35 Dover Road in Newfane, VT. We’ll be celebrating our progress and celebrating all of you - the incredible community of supporters who make our work possible! Join Rural Vermont staff, Board, and fellow members for live music, a shared meal and cash bar, art-making, a small and sweet silent auction, our 2023 Board election, and more. More details:

  • We’re excited to welcome back Nate and Nat, playing old-time banjo and fiddle music, and then following the evening’s program, the Green Mountain Queerbillies take the stage! Inspired by a mix of old-time, bluegrass, and early country music, they play driving fiddle music and sing old songs in close harmony. JUST ADDED: “The Pollinator Song” Sing-Along led by Emily Laxner and Aro Veno!

  • The Newfane Store, a favorite among locals, will be serving up a delicious meal, featuring pork donated by Rural Vermont member Nick Zigelbaum of Longest Acres Farm. Desserts of all sorts provided by our generous members!

  • Current Board members Jeannie Bartlett, Nour El-Naboulsi, Marya Merriam, and Julie Wolcott will be running for re-election in our 2023 Board Election! Plus we’ve got six new farmers (representing three farms) seeking election: Emily Virzi & Rose Thackeray of Union Brook Farm, Emily & Evan Reiss of Fledgling Farmstead, and Cory Froning & Jake Kornfeld of The Farm Upstream. See the full Board slate and read candidate bios here.

  • Make agrarian and activist themed cards at our art station! We’ll have a variety of block prints to choose among, including the ever popular “Power to the Farmers” art and the brand new, super sweet pig! All art courtesy of the mighty talented Erok.

  • Silent Auction including tickets to a live show at Next Stage Arts, a meat sampler from Union Brook Farm, a handmade wood cutting board by Jerome Milks, original artwork, yarn from Green Mountain Spinnery, a 2-night cabin stay, and more!

  • Beer, wine, and cider cash bar provided by Whetstone Beer Co. in Brattleboro.

Rural Vermont’s Annual Meeting is FREE for all Rural Vermont members. Not a member? Join for $35+ in advance or at the door.

RSVP is CLOSED BUT WE’LL HAVE SPACE FOR WALK-INS.
